Activity Report – second Timbali Event

On September 7, 2025, Timbali held its very first event in Michoacán, Mexico — a region known for its natural beauty but also deeply affected by isolation and the strong influence of narcotrafficking. In these challenging circumstances, children often grow up with very limited opportunities to discover new horizons, to dream of different futures, and to imagine solutions beyond the reality that surrounds them. This is exactly where Timbali seeks to make a difference.
Our two dedicated specialized educators, Humberto and Rita, embarked on a long and adventurous journey to reach a remote village on the Michoacán coast. Their mission was clear: to meet the local community, to introduce the vision of Timbali, and to create a safe and inspiring space for children, a space where trust, creativity, and play could open the door to hope.
When Humberto and Rita arrived in the village, they were met with curiosity and openness. They took time to connect with the families, to explain the purpose of our association, and to invite the children to a special gathering on the beach the following day.
The response was overwhelming, 15 children came together on the beach, ready to play, laugh, and share. What followed was an unforgettable afternoon of games, group activities, and trust-building exercises that invited the children to explore cooperation, self-expression, and imagination.
The photos taken that day speak volumes: children smiling, holding hands, daring to try new challenges, and discovering in themselves a spark of confidence and belonging. Through simple games, Timbali’s philosophy came alive: creating a moment where every child could feel safe, valued, and capable of dreaming.
The event was not only a gift for the children but also a source of encouragement. The warm welcome Humberto and Rita received confirmed that Timbali has found fertile ground for its mission in Michoacán. Parents expressed gratitude, community members showed support, and the children left with shining eyes and renewed energy.
This first step in Mexico is only the beginning. Timbali is committed to continuing its mission of bringing light, play, and trust to children in places where opportunities are scarce and challenges are immense. Our second Timbali event took place in Santa María Pipioltepec, a rural community in Estado de México where many families live in very modest conditions. Opportunities for children here are limited, and daily life is often marked by economic hardship. This made it the perfect place for Timbali to continue fulfilling its mission: to bring joy, imagination, and a sense of possibility to children who are growing up in disadvantaged environments.
We partnered with the hacienda Campamento Pipiol, where Humberto had worked before, and thanks to this relationship we received a warm welcome. With the support of local leaders, we invited children from the community to join the program. Word spread quickly, and on the day of the event we gathered a wonderful group of 23 children, aged 5 to 16 years old.
The day unfolded in a spirit of discovery and play. We began in the hacienda’s large garden, where the children connected through group activities. We then moved on to the bouldering area, visited rescued animals cared for by the camp, and tried slacklining in the orchard. To close, we gathered everyone for an inspirational talk, reflecting on the experience and encouraging the children to imagine a different future, one filled with creativity, trust, and new possibilities.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Parents expressed how grateful they were to see their children so engaged, joyful, and inspired.
At Timbali, we believe that every child deserves the chance to dream and to build self-confidence, no matter where they are born. Through games of trust, collaboration, and creativity, our aim is to help children in difficult situations open their minds to new horizons.
